Leadership and Ministry
The Ministry Team
Every member of Christ Church is an important part of the team, all contributing together to build up the body. The leaders seek to encourage and train all the members of the church to be working together effectively, at the same time looking in prayer to God, knowing that it is He alone who "gives the growth".
Andrew Dircks - Senior Minister
Andrew has served as Vicar (senior pastor) at Christ Church since 2011. Originally from NSW, he first served in local church ministry in rural northern NSW, and subsequently in England and in Thailand. His postgraduate studies focused upon the concept of "worship" in the New Testament. Committed to global Christian missions, he served for 8 years on the staff of the Church Missionary Society. Andrew is married to Amy, with two adult sons and a daughter.
Sarah Kerr - Children’s Minister
Sarah started in October 2018 as (half-time) Children’s Minister, with her key focus areas being the new ‘Shine’ after school kids club, our Sunday morning Kids’ Church, and Wednesday morning Playgroup. Sarah has lived locally most of her life, with short term experience in Indonesia and USA. She has formal qualifications in early childhood education.
Nine people currently serve with the Vicar as the church's governing committee (the Parish Council): the three Wardens, Siobhan Reed, Raechel Forster, Peter Whitehill; the Treasurer, John Lucas; and other members Sue Block, Tim Mulgrew, Tom Eggers, Andrew Komolhathai, Michael Carlyle-Taylor.
Other Leaders and Staff
A number of leaders serve in particular roles within the life of the church, including in the Community Groups, in music, kids' and teens' ministries, and in facilitating our connections with others beyond Christ Church.
