SHINE
WHAT IS SHINE?
Shine is our after-school club on Thursday afternoons, run by Christ Church Hawthorn.
Shine runs from around 3:30pm to 5pm on Thursday afternoons, in the Wood Hall (6 Wood Street; corner of Wood and Denham Streets) and in the adjacent child-safe courtyard.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
All children of primary school ages are welcome to attend Shine.
For children who are currently attending Hawthorn West Primary School, we invite parents to authorise the Shine leaders to collect their children directly from the school at the particular school finish time. We escort the children for the short walk along Wood Street to the Wood Hall. Parents can collect their children from the Wood Hall at the conclusion of Shine, between 5pm and 5:30pm.
Children attending other local schools are also most welcome to participate. They would need to travel promptly from their school to the Wood Hall.
Parents are most welcome to attend at any time.
WHAT HAPPENS AT SHINE?
The program generally includes afternoon tea, games, craft, singing and basic mainstream Christian / Bible input, and is led by qualified, authorised and certified leaders, all holding current Working with Children Checks.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We invite a donation of $5 per child per session.
